MEMENTO is an invitation to remember. This healing action of stirring the memory to pay homage to what came before us and to be thankful for what we have been given. The act of pausing to reflect on the fundamental.
I will never come up with another word that better defines my relationship with flamenco, that will describe so accurately this force that drives me to pay homage to the past, this religious respect that I hold for the flamenco that gave birth to me and for those who have made it this treasure that I venerate.
I want to honour it, and so I put my sense of decorum and freedom, in equal parts, at its service. The former to contribute to rigorously preserving its precepts, identified by an ethic and aesthetic that are sacred heritage; the latter, to devote all my creative, imaginative and emotional capacity to it, to serve as a vehicle that connects the past with the present, to search within myself and to give light to it by resonating the ancient echoes that speak with my voice.
