Best known for his religious work, his organ playing and his compositions for the Catalan dance known as the Sardana, this concert offers a selection of his most important piano works, as the culmination of a recording project.Among Catalan composers of the 20th century, the figure of Francesc Civil is essential in understanding the work of musicians who, despite the isolation of Catalan culture at the time, managed to shine in areas such as composition, musicology and performance. Trained in Montserrat and the Schola Cantorum in Paris, Villalba soon became a renowned organist and teacher. He also founded the Girona Conservatory.
