pROGRAMME

Barcelona, epicentre of jazz training in southern Europe, with the ESMUC as one of its fundamental references. Under the direction of veteran pianist and maestro Lluís Vidal, co-director of the Barcelona Art Orchestra and creator in the mid-1980s of the now defunct Chamber Orchestra of the Teatre Lliure, an ensemble of students from the school will tackle a repertoire of key names in establishing the foundations of modern jazz in the United States. Demanding and varied pieces, harmonically and rhythmically rich, to test the skills of the future greats of Barcelona-bred jazz.
