Original version with Spanish subtitlesA cult film, a true work of art, a marvel for the senses. Film critics have run out of words to describe The Nightmare Before Christmas, a collaboration between director Henry Selick, producer Tim Burton and composer Danny Elfman, which was released in 1993. The scary characters who live in ‘Halloween Town’ reveal their sweet and tender side in songs that have become indisputable hits in the history of film music, with This is Halloween and the highly amusing What’s This?
At the time when computers began to break into film studios, but when work was still being done in the traditional manner, the technique of stop-motion animation reached new milestones with the creation of these elongated characters. It took three years to make the film due to the complexity of creating the sets and perfecting the movement of the puppets. And when Danny Elfman’s music appeared, well, magic was made.
