A concert highlighting the period of transition from the finest classical symphonies to the beginnings of Romanticism. From the narrative of Beethoven’s hero Egmont to a concerto by Mozart that Beethoven particularly admired and played on several occasions, ending with the Pastoral symphony, a fine example of programme music.
