Program
L’Auditori has been a member of the European Concert Hall Organisation since 2007. Each year, the ECHO chooses its Rising Stars, a group of brilliant, young artists, who it offers a platform from which to launch their international career. The 2018-2019 edition will give us the opportunity to discover two emerging young talents. The first is trombonist Peter Moore, who, at only eighteen, became the youngest musician to form part of the London Symphony Orchestra. Moore will perform the well-known Fantasiestücke, op. 73 by Robert Schumann, the trombone version of Four Serious Songs, op. 121 by Johannes Brahms, a selection of pieces by George Gershwin he arranged himself, as well the premiere of a new piece English composer Roxanna Panufnik, commissioned by the ECHO. The second is cellist Kian Soltani, who has already released his first record on the Deutsche Grammophon label. An unapologetic musician, Soltani will have his debut at L’Auditori with two masterpieces from the repertoire for cello: the legendary Suite for Unaccompanied Cello No. 3 by Johann Sebastian Bach and the essential Sonata for Solo Cello, Op. 8 by Zoltán Kodály.
