The London collective Plus-Minus opens the Sampler Sèries season with a sample of British avant-garde music. The London collective Plus-Minus opens the Sampler Sèries season with a sample of British avant-garde music. Repetitions in extended time, by the English composer Bryn Harrison (1969), focuses on the exploration of musical time through the repetition of sound materials shown from different angles and perspectives. The work, lasting 43 minutes, plays with the auditory memory and the points of reference and disorientation that repetition can cause in the listener by obsessively re-examining an object. Completing the programme is 6 Artificial Environments, by Joanna Bailie, which are based on the interaction between field recordings and acoustic instruments.
