Program
The processes of mixing and transformation are common to many acts of creation. Based on this idea, each season L’Auditori invites local jazz musicians to revisit classics of different genres. This initiative has resulted in a series of works of great artistic quality, such as Ravel’s Dreams, by Marco Mezquida; Revisiting Zarathustra, by Juan Vidal Sextet; Jesus Christ Superstar, by Seward, and OK Computer, by Ramon Prats, to mention a few. This season, L’Auditori’s commission provides the perfect opportunity for presenting the Barcelona Art Orchestra (BAO), an ensemble that seeks to occupy a hitherto empty space within the Catalan music scene and become a national jazz orchestra. The BAO will pay its own tribute to the soundtrack of the film The Godfather, which will be given a jazz sound through the works of its directors Lluís Vidal, Néstor Giménez, Lluc Casares and Joan Vidal.
