Program
The harp as played by José Antonio Domené is a source of surprises: it can be heard in performance with large orchestras but also in chamber music ensembles, contemporary musical projects or in the Liceu orchestra pit. On this occasion, however, it will take its position centre stage to perform the warm and delicious concerto by Serge Lancen. The programme is rounded off with two of the composers whose presence with us will be ongoing throughout the season: the Italian Franco Cesarini and Philip Sparke from England, both contemporary composers who are experts in the symphony orchestra music that is most performed around the world. The “Poema Alpestre” (Alpine Poem) is a fine example of Cesarini’s versatility and the mastery he commands over highly-diverse styles and aesthetics.
