Program
The music from magical worlds bursts onto the music stands of the Band. It may arrive flying with an umbrella, or scaling the façade of Notre Dame, or perhaps dancing with monkeys in the jungle… or even ice skating. But however it shows up, the fact is that music is the best way of transporting us to a world of fantasy. The programme kicks off with the unforgettable Wizard of Oz and thereafter ventures into scores from the Disney factory. The creators of dreams won their first musical Oscar with Pinocchio (1940) and their latest, to date, was with Coco (2017), in total accumulating more than a dozen awards including those for Mary Poppins, Pocahontas and Frozen. Other songs included in this programme brought to us by Beatriz Fernández were also nominated. It goes without saying that the people at Disney certainly know how to write music… magical music.
