After OBC’s successes with Gladiator and Lord of the Rings, this year’s OBCinema cycle will feature three spectacular productions. The first, Titanic, is one of the most watched films in the history of cinema, and is being screened in tribute to James Horner, who died in 2015. Now we can experience the film as we’ve never seen it before, accompanied by a live symphony orchestra and choir.James Horner was the composer of over 100 film soundtracks, including two of the biggest blockbusters in history, Avatar and Titanic. His artistic partnership with director James Cameron resulted in other hits, such as Aliens, and he was also responsible for the music from films such as The Name of the Rose, Willow, Cocoon, Apollo 13, Braveheart and The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas. The score for Titanic forms part of cinematic history: drawing us into the love story between Rose and Jack, the engineer Andrews’ pride for his ship, the lively Irish parties in third class and hundred-year-old Rose’s memories of this historic event.
Titanic Live is an Avex Classics International production
