The Barragán, Soltani, Floristán Trio, who represent a new generation of fully consolidated musicians, will perform in L’Auditori’s Chamber Music season. The trio is formed by clarinettist Pablo Barragán, winner of the Prix Credit Suisse Jeunes Solistes in 2013, cellist Kian Soltani, and Juan Pérez Floristán, winner of the 2015 Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition.
In their concert at L’Auditori, they will show different approaches to an ensemble with great timbric richness. Trio in B flat major, op. 11, is an early work in which Ludwig van Beethoven, free of tensions, makes the three instruments dialogue playfully. Johannes Brahms, on the other hand, was already an experienced composer when he wrote Trio in A minor, op. 114, which reflects his particular sensitivity in terms of finding the best timbric combination. From the perspective of sound in the 21st century, clarinettist and composer Jörg Widmann also offers a meticulous timbric performance of Nachtstück, a sinister, and even violent, work.
