Program
We Spoke, the Anglo-Swiss group led by percussionist Serge Vuille and whose members include musicians of the stature of Juliet Fraser (Exaudi, Marc Knoop (Plus-Minus)and Laurent Estoppey (Ensemble baBel), offers us a theatrical programme with a line-up reminiscent of jazz (vocals, sax, keyboards and drums). The energetic song cycle DW16 Songbook by Swiss composer Bernhard Lang is based on the ideas of difference and repetition, while Ensembles of Note is a piece of indefinite length by American composer Larry Polansky, with no conventional score, as it is performed according to a set of instructions.
We Spoke will work with dancers Nuria Guiu and Manuel Rodriguez to develop a version of this work where movements and sounds respond to the same instructions. Young composer Serge Vuille will also present a new work ‘Ouverture in White’ as part of this programme
