In this concert, the countertenor Xavier Sabata, together with pianist Francisco Poyato, will offer an interpretation of this cult work in a countertenor register.The nature of Franz Schubert’s Winterreise cycle has been described as unsettling. With an introspective musical discourse, it depicts the mood of the individual who, rejected, feels desperately alone. Composed a year before his death, it is highly likely that Schubert was describing his own emotional state through the poems of Wilhelm Müller that he had recently discovered. In this concert, countertenor Xavier Sabata, together with pianist Francisco Poyato, will present a performance of this cult work through the countertenor´s vocal range. A unique musical experience on every level.
