Dynamic jazz improvisations and folk music from his native Armenia are united in the work of pianist and composer Tigran Hamasyan. The winner of celebrated piano awards including the 2006 Thelonious Monk Jazz Piano Competition and the 2013 Montreux Jazz Festival, his unique language combines jazz with minimalist music, electronics, folk, singer-songwriting, symphonic rock and even metal.
Hamasyan presents at l’Auditori Stand Art (Nonesuch, April 2022) his first record of jazz standards.
